Babe and I have 2 doxies and they are probably 6 months old. They both will pee outside if we take them outside, but sometimes they wait until they get inside and onto the carpet BEFORE they will pee. They still pee in the house, and the house is nothing but carpet except where the pool room is. We have tried rubbing their nose in their pee and spanking them and putting them outside. This has done nothing and they still insist to pee on the carpet without trying to go outside and pee and poop. What else can we do?

You should try putting them on a newspaper when its time for them to go. That way they will learn to pee on the news paper rather than on the carpet. you should also not give them food past five in the afternoon then they willl not poo in the house. Also try putting them outside till you are sure they have done their business even if they howl oudside just leave them and only let them come in when it is time for bed. Hope I was of some help

I have to ask a question about this... did you have dogs before that peed on the carpet? Maybe cats? I know that after our house trained dog moved into this house with us, she started to pee and poop all over the place, to mark her territory. Maybe that's what's happening, and you might need new carpet.
Also, after you feed them, take them outside and don't let them come back in until they do their business.

you should try and buy a large flat tubaware container that is shallow and put sod in there in your house. then they can use that to pee on (as if they were going outside) and you just water it every so often so the sod stays growing.
