I used to in the USA but now that I live in Australia, there is no way I bring a car to a bar/nightclub because the drinking & driving laws are way more severe...it's just not worth it. Everyone I know catches a cab.

UNFORTUNATELY yes! I live in Italy, where people would even take their car into their bedroom if they could! It's a stupid habit. Sometimes they double-park, out of parking lots obviously, or in the doorway of a house (!) just because it's nearer to the bar they are going to. And the totally empty square is perhaps simply 50 metres away or even less!

Yes most guys drive there cars to night spot to impress girls. But most of the times they end up caught by police or have an accident.

I used to always drive when going out but have decided to go the cab route if I am going to be drinking. Cabs aren't that expensive when compare to problems related to a DUI. It just isn't worth the risk.
