I am trying to find the ownership records of the home my father grew up in, in Washtenaw County, MI. The home has since been destroyed by fire. I have the address, but not a parcel number. Any suggestions??

Go to the courthouse in the county the house was in and talk to them. They keep up with all that stuff. since you have the address, they can look up their records in the computer and tell you everyone they have on file for ever owning that piece of property.

Go to the county clerk in the county that the home was in, they should have the tax records. You can also contact a title company and ask f they can do a title search on that address. They will charge you but if you really want to find it that may be the best way cause they are really thorough. Also if you contact all the title companies in the town one may already have it on file and they might make you a copy for a small fee.

Go to that county's registry of deeds and do a title search on the property. If you aren't able to get there yourself, some registries are online. A title company would also be able to do this for you. Even with only a property address, you should be able to do a pretty comprehensive chain of title and get whatever ownership info you need.
