So my best freind finally left to another country. Ive known about this months ago, and dreaded this day. I knew that id feel really shitty about the whole thing with him leaving.. He is more than family to me, we go back long time, and did almost everything togther, party, college, travel. So when i dropped him off the airport today i just felt okay.. what happend to the crying, for not seeing him in a long time?? I dont know, is this a delayed reaction?

It probably hasn't sunk in yet. Try not to get too down about it. Your friend is following his life's path. Do what you can to stay close via internet and phone calls - use skype, you can call outside the country for free via your computer. Save money and go visit him when you get the chance. Maybe you'll like where he is and decide to join him?

It could be a delayed reaction. Sometimes when you will be doing some of the things you both did, it will hit you. Or it just could be that you are a stronger person that you thought you were, you knew he was leaving for a while so you adjusted to it prior to him leaving. You will fine, another friend that you can trust will come along, but never forget the one that went away.

It sucks when someone you care about heaps leaves - it's really hard. I don't know about delayed reaction but it sure is a reaction & a perfectly normal one at that. With the internet you can set up a video phone & talk to each other heaps - that will help.

Is there a law book written somewhere saying that you must cry? People always judge themselves against other people. Don't cry because you are supposed to, or not cry because you are not supposed to according to what other people are doing. Validate your feelings by giving them permission to come out by what ever way they want. We only adjust them to be respectful of God and man. But if you were only wondering if the tears could still come, sure, when an old memory comes up one day...there they could be.

No, you have had plenty of time to deal with your emotions. So it came as no shock to you that he was gone. Its funny how you tend to prepare yourself for the worst and then when it doesnt happen its almost like a dissapointment. Not missing him right away and feeling ok , not crying and such doesn't make you any lesser of a friend.
