Wash a homeless man who had been brought to the hospital who had gangrene of the penis, lice, scabies, crabs and who knows what else. He was so dirty that when I washed him it was like a mud pack all over his body. It took 4 of us to get him clean enough for surgery.

As disgusting as it was, I felt he really appreciated the care we took of him and the compassion we showed him. After his surgery he became one of our favorite patients. We got him some clothes and I gave him a haircut and he was so happy.
