My Mom's cat, Tiger, is lost to us. My brother let him out in the middle of the night + forgot about him!!! My mother is DEVASTATED!! Which I understand, having 3 cats myself, who are my very spoiled children! I plan on getting her a sympathy card and maybe sending her the link to Rainbowbridge, I hear it is really nice!
But what I am looking for, is something to do, in his memory. To show my mom that his goodness goes on...
Like a friend of mine, when my dad died, donated to the Diabetes Foundation, in my dad's Name + Honor.
I want to do that for Tigs, I just don't know what to do. I need help, so here I am. Any help? Suggestions? Anything?
THANKS!
Richelle

You learn that Tiger is just lost to us, well my mom, mostly! My brother came in at about 3 in the morn let Tigs out, and then forgot he let him out, till about 7am!!!
Again, like I said, she is DEVASTATED!!!
I just want to do something special for her and soemthing to honor Tigs life too!!!
Just as a side note, some things are not feasible (ex memorial etc) as I live in Ohio and my mom lives in Texas...
THANKS, MUCH!

Hi Richelle...would you be able to find some photos of Tigs and create a keepsake memory scrapbook for your mother? Consider writing some personal poetry to add along with ones found on the web too.

You can sponsor a cat in your local SPCA or other shelter so that when it gets adopted it gets to go home with some food & whatnot. Or just make out a donation to them & ask to put it as a type of "in loving memory" type thing. I think this would be a lovely idea :)

They SPCA would love a donation. The one in Sacramento has tiles you can decorate for a small fee, and bricks that you can have inscribed with little Tiger's name and a saying or something.
Other places have the same sort of things. You gotta look around.

Very sorry to hear about your Mom's beloved pet. We can all relate to that to some degree or another.

Perhaps a donation to the local humane society. We have a monthly contribution to our humane society, perhaps this is one option. Or, there's the cage sponsorship program, buy X # of cages to sadly house more animals.

Best of luck in your decision.
Know that your Mom's "child" is now in Heaven above.

I had my cat for 10 years when he was killed last year I was devastated, I loved that cat so much.

I buried him and built a rock garden all around and got a brass plaque made with his name on it which is mounted on a large bush rock.

I like to go and see him there and look after his garden, it makes me feel better.

My suggestion would be to buy Tiger a star.

My dog died this past thursday. She was with me all her life and passed away suddenly. I am holding a small memorial for her today to honor her life with me. I got a candle, flowers, and picture, along with her collar w.tags on my table and everyone who knew and loved her will come today to remember her and her life. Maybe something like this would work for your mother. It is devastating when we lose our pets, especially if we raised them(I had my dog since she was 10 weeks old). I think it will take some time before we can get through this because pets are like family members and their unconditional love is something we only get from them.....

Why don't you donate to a no kill animal shelter in Tigs name?
