Ghosts are evil, but worship the holy ghost (spirt)?

I have had a good amount of people tell me ghosts are evil, then turn around and say they worship the holy ghost.

I have heard that ghosts are spirits and that they must be evil since they are still on earth instead of heaven. It makes no sense what so ever.

I've never heard anyone say that. I'm a Chirstian, and it's not in the Bible, and I have never ever heard anyone say to worship the Holy Ghost. This is the first time.
Are we just making things up?

The Holy Spirit is one of the three distinct and divine persons who constitute the Holy Trinity, which is God.
It is completely appropriate to worship God.
We are, for our own benefit, prohibited from having inappropriate discourse with spirits (ghosts) who are not God.
God says this. He ought to know.

They are the same people who would tell you that any non-material being is an evil demon. It could just be some michevious brownie or puck, but if a Christian sees it or the results of it's actions, it's a Demon. They don't even know what a True Demon is. Some jerk with a dependancy on alcohol is under the 'influence of demons' in their clouded, covered eyes. In short, they are stupid.
