most of the recipes i've seen are too involved... has anyone a simple, do-able recipe for fresh meat or chicken food that i can give to two adult neutered males?

Hi there...consider boiling chicken. It's nutritiously healthy for felines and easy to freeze to serve for weeks ahead as well.

2oz of meat or steamed fish
2oz grain mix (brown rice, oatmeal, miller, barley, cracked wheat, etc)1/2 tbsp brewer's yeast
1/8 tspn bone meal or calcium gluconate powder
add vegetables to grains (broccoli, carrots, green beans, bell peppers, sweet potatoes, etc) put aside, this will last for about a week
boil 1/2 quart water
add 1 1/2 cup of the grain mix
simmer 45 min
blend til baby food consistency
dont forget to cook the meat
also cats need to have "organ" meat once a week to be healthy (liver, heart, kidney...)
mix the meat and the grain together only when you need it
should last a week at a time
if you want youre cat to be healthy i dont think there is a super simple homemade recipe. sure a cat will eat chicken or fish if you feed them that, but it doesnt fulfill all their dietary needs, there are things in veggies they need to and organ meats as well

I used to have to make food for my cat that had a problem with his stomach. I would roast turkey, no dressing. I would chop the turkey up into very small peices and mix it with rice and cat vitamins. Then I put it in a blender and made it even finer.

It kept my cat alive for an extra three years.
