No most pagan and wiccan religions do not expect this infact they incorage earthly desires as a form of getting closer the the Lord and Lady.

Yes, because there are all so concerned with what's beyond this earth, they forget this earth is part of everything also. Earthly pleasures should put in a good balance with spirituality, not completely forgotten. (In my humble pagan opinion.)

In Buddhism it is the fundamental principle. We incarnate in a material world filled with desire only to become aware of the futility of desire and clinging to materiaist values.

Yes and that's the only way to stay close to God and His commands.

If we keep doing whatever our heart desires, we will eventually deviate from good things and become selfish.

They don't want you to have fun! I believe in life before death.I want my life to be like a fun party. ( and you're all invited) If you don't like earthly desires you're not doing them correctly.

Yes, because they value an imaginary afterlife more than they value the one life that we are given. The only life that we can prove matters.
