Not sure what your question is, but nobody's been reading or writing for more than about 4,000 years. The question, I think, is not whether you can write, but do you have anything worthwhile to say? Most people in the developed world can read and write, but I doubt that I really want to read much of what most of them have written.

we ( humans) could not have been reading them if we ( humans) had not been writing them.
the thing that makes more people write books is time and education

the prevailing ability to read and write
and the time to do so.
I mean, how much are you gonna write if you don't ahve lights to work at night, and the majority of your day involves caring for your physical needs. ( the farm, or hunting, cooking. whatever)
