Must say I havnt noticed any knights in shining armour on here!!
But if your talking about in the real world.... humans in general are engineered to protect the race, therefore in times of crisis they protect children.
As a consequence the more a person has childlike features the more likely men are to protect her, such as small nose, big eyes, etc.

it's prob cos of the idea that men are stronger than women and that they need protection. it's been established since Man was born. natural instinct i guess. but it's not always a bad thing!
