Basically, I was just wondering why when one person yawns, someone nearby to that person (usually a friend or family member) follows this same act...usually unintentionally and uncontrollably???

they r still finding about it since it is quite unknown. usually u dont yawn when u just hear the person but not see him/her but it does not apply to everyone. I also read that it people used to yawn to give a sign to each other in ancient times to warn each if an enemy is approaching and it left an impact that now we dont imitate it but it comes naturally. I found this info a bit strange though! i forgot where i read it

I read somewhere that sympathetic people are more susceptible to the yawn domino affect. Who knows? I can't even think about yawning without yawning!
