im starting a job where i will get health ins coverage. can i canceal a health ins policy online . its bluecross. i no longer need coverage from them. i called a 800 number and they said you had to write a letter. why cant this just be done online

This is to protect them and you. If, for example, you were in an accident and they didn't have written proof that you'd canceled, then they'd have to pay. Likewise, by sending a letter of cancellation by certified mail to them, you have proof that you canceled so that if they continue taking money out of your account, then you can show you canceled and that they received notice.

some companies allow it but its always a good idea to send them a hard copy via snail mail
