If you want to do this then you should prepare for bad out come.

Take a friend with you (the friend could be some distance away but in line of site)

Get a friend to phone you every hour, have a secret code based on an holiday.
For example
You could say I wouldn't mind a holiday by the sea, which means everything is going very well.

A reply such as an inland walking holiday, means eveything is ok.

A reply such as mountian climbing, means get me out of here.

Don;t take your credit cards, take twice the amount in cash you expect to spend.

If you are meeting in a strange location, get there early and have a good look round to get an idea of the layout.

Wear a sensible outfit, tight short skirts and fashion shoes are not the order of the day.

Go with your gut instinct... something inside was telling me to do it, and so far... touch wood ... everything is still sweet. We more or less fell for each other before we even met, crazy!!. If you do meet and there isnt a spark, then atleast you tried it, and wouldnt be thinking ... I should have, or... what if?. I travelled 200 miles, and it was the best thing i ever did. Make sure you tell friends or family that your planning on travelling (where-ever), and you'll phone them to let them know your ok. Good luck! :)

I assume this is a normal straight he - she ralationship? If it is, then why won't he initiate the in-person meeting, say exchange pictures and make the effort to visit you (at a public place)? I know this is 21st century, but have you considered that you may be "just a friend" to him and no more than that?

Someone interested in you for more than a frienship will be in so much pain for not trying to meet you, specially after talking for +-8 months. I don't mean to break your heart; Just a friendly advice, K?

No, but i might meet halfway somewhere.

Online relationships should not be relied on as valid till u actually meet each other and confirm everything u talked about.

My parents married having only having 2 dates, and then 1 year of writing ...1945....

I would never have done what they did.

I have done this and would do it again but only if I felt it was worth the time. I ended up with a really great friend out of the deal. We had however spoken daily for quite some time on internet and phone. I wouldnt rush it.

In the quieter moments of romantic reflection, it's something i or any other woman could do but after months of watching FBI files on discovery channel every Thursday, i would advise caution before going anywhere to meet any man. if you feel you must, arrange a meeting in a very public place and make sure half the country knows where you're going. take care.

Yes, I had the same thing with a girl we met on a poker site. We ended up hooking up in Reno, Nevada, and get together at least once a year, a friends with benefits thing.

I recommend it. Just send pictures first so no one gets disappointed when the big day comes.

Good luck and enjoy!

why cant he travel to a neutral location and meet you there. Probably a good idea to make it a very public place, you never know nowadays if you can trust someone you have known for years let alone someone you've never met.

I have and would do it again.

Always meet in a public place tho.

It can be very successful, whos to say that your soulmate isnt waiting? They dont always live next door.

Go for it. Its can be very nervracking but it can also be the start of something special.

Stay safe and yes there are ppl out there who are not genuine, but I think theyre are more who are.

Good luck!
