Hi kong!! :o) I would like you to take a very good look at all of the responses you have received. And then ask yourself... "Are these really the kind of people that I want to be associated with?" Do you get a warm, loving feeling when you hear them talk? Do they give you the impression that they are as 'open-minded' as many would like you to THINK they are? If not. I can appreciate that. As a Christian - I sometimes feel like throwing up when I read what some self-proclaimed 'Christians' say. It's disheartening - to say the least. And no doubt - I’m sure there are many Atheists who are quite disturbed by what some fellow Atheists say. Whenever you listen to how most Atheists talk - it's quite clear [at least it is to me] that they don't hate God. How could they? They don't believe in God. How could they hate something they don't believe? What they hate are God's messengers. Or at least enough of them to have dismissed EVERYTHING they might have said to them [about God] as nonsense. But at what cost?! It would be like ME hating YOU because someone who said they love you - is a jerk. What's the logic in that?!
That said... I believe that the only way to God [and therefore into heaven] is through His Son, Jesus Christ. Being ’saved’ is NOT a reward for being a ’good person’. For NO MAN could EVER be good enough [on his own] to be worthy of eternity in heaven. That’s why the ’gift’ is so remarkable. You should know - however - that I didn't come to believe in Christ because I was surrounded by loving, wonderful 'Christians'. In fact - quite the contrary. The 'Christians' that I grew up with were heartless, self-serving and just plain awful. I could have turned by back on them AND everything they said - but I didn’t want to cut off my nose to spite my face. [Throw the baby out with the bath water - that sort of thing] I decided to look into the whole ‘God’ thing for myself. And I’m glad I did.
THINK FOR YOURSELF.
I believe that a man goes to 'hell' [which will eventually mean total annihilation] IF he refuses to accept Jesus Christ as his 'savior'. Am I wrong? Am I believing in fairies? I don't know. But I don't think so. You tell me.
Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

You only go to hell if you reject Jesus as your Lord & Savior, if you don't know anything about him, you can't be held accountable, but you'll still be judged according to your actions. Have you ever lied, even once? Then that is a sin. We don't get to heaven by our good works or by being a genuinely good person, we get there by the grace of God. Read up on your bible and learn some things, grow a relationship with God and be amazed at the peace and love that will swell in your heart. You'll be at a loss for words.

Whatever image the word hell brings to your mind, hell is generally thought of as a place of punishment for sin. Concerning sin and its effect, the Bible says at Romans 5:12 "Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned." The Scriptures also state at Romans 6:23 "The wages sin pays is death." Since the punishment for sin is death, the fundamental question in determining the true nature of hell is: What happens to us when we die? For more information about this is at www.watchtower.org. Type in the search box on that site "What has happened to hellfire?"

It isn't about being a bad person, and you don't have to go to hell. God doesn't want anyone to go to hell. He offers a free gift of salvation to anyone who will accept it. All one has to do is come to Him in prayer with a true heart of repentance and pray a prayer in your own words and from your own heart something like this:
"God, I know that I have sinned against You and am deserving of punishment. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve by dying and shedding His own blood on the cross so that through my faith and trust in Him, I could be forgiven. I turn away from my sins, I ask for forgiveness, and place my trust in you for salvation. Thank you for your wonderful grace and forgiveness and your promise of life eternal in Heaven! Amen!"

That boggles my mind too. I have no idea why a decent person would be condemned for not "picking the right religion". Doesn't seem like a loving deity would do such a thing. That's why I put my faith in the Flying Spaghetti Monster. He'll let me in even if I believe he's imaginary.

And when you say genuinely not a bad person, what do you mean by that.

Who said that you have to go to hell?
You decide by how you live and what you value on where you will go.
Whatever you have been doing lately or in the past, God Loves you and wants you to turn to Him.
If you don't have a relationship with God and find it hard to imagine him, Think about a loving parent, eagerly waiting for their child to turn back to them. Ready to forgive them for just about anything if they are truly sorry.
We need to be humble and to present ourselves before the Lord. We need to keep in mind that God is our creator and protector and we are His creatures. It's not easy but it is simple. Don't let anybody or anything come between yourself and your love for God. And love others the way you love yourself.
Live with the awareness that God is constantly loving you and calling you closer. Then help others find the way to eternal happiness.
God Bless You, God is blessing you, ;-)
