I'm a 23yr old female. I recently have chest pains on my left side. It feels like I need to burp but nothing comes out. I feel pressure on it and I have difficulty breathing when it happens. What can it be? Heart burn? Am I too young for that? I do not smoke, drink, and it does not occur after exercise. 8 out of 10 times it occur after eating. What can it be?

There are a couple or more things to consider here... As you describe it, the first thought is diaphramatic hernia.. would restrict breathing when there is a gas buildup in the stomach. It would restrict the breathing somewhat..Heartburn would not cause that particular side effect. Besides heartburn would occur more centrally located and end up burning clear up to your throat. There is another unusual condition which involves the esophagus... there are 2 nerves involved with the function of this portion of the body.. one takes care of the upper 1/3 of the tube, the other the remainder to the stomach.... if there is a lock up of that transitional area, you would find it very difficult to burp. The only other condition (though remote) would be rib displacement, enough to touch the intercostal nerves and cause the deep inspiration to be painful enough to stop the continuation of that inspiration. It would not be connected to eating habits.

Sounds like regular heartburn, which feels horrible. Chew a couple of Mylantas, that should take care of the discomfort.

Could be Anxiety, this almost mimics chest pains perfectly, do you have stress or something bothering you and u not telling someone about it?? try going to Doc if this persist, could be something worse or less

It looks like you are pointing to the joint where ribs joint the sternum. Maybe the joint is inflamed or a rib is out of place.
