I'm not a guy, but you should get educated. Herpes is not a death-sentence. I have had friends who have lived a long time with herpes infection, and they have ways to keep it from spreading to partners. One such friend is married, and has given birth. Neither her child nor her husband have herpes. She has been with him for 8 years. Oh, and they don't use condoms if that's what you are thinking.
By the way, since herpes affects the entire area around the genitals, condoms are not 100% safe protection from infection.
BUT, having said that, I think it is a personal choice how much health risk you want to take in order to be with someone. You should discuss your fears and concerns with a potential mate before it becomes an issue.

First of all, as a medical professional condoms are not 100% protection against herpes. It helps but u r still taking a risk. Frankly, with all the women out there that do NOT have herpes, I wouldn't bother. Sure, I'd appreciate the honesty but I want to go down on her, I want to have sex w/o having to worry about any shiiit.......no matter how much I liked her, I'd bet outta there.

I think its the same as having a retarded child.
Sure you wish your kid didn't have Down's syndrome -you wish to GOD that this didn't happen... but you love your kid anyways.
If I found out the girl I liked had herpes... I would react to the degree of my attraction to her. If I am head over heels... I'd deal with it. If its just a mild attraction... I'll move on.
