I never heard of a denial because they were defending someone's honor. Get an atty and try again. Sounds like you might meet the mental requirements and I'm ABSOLUTELY NOT trying to insult you. Good luck.

not sure what "too good for a government check" means. If you're saying they turned you down...well, usually they turn down the first try, so try again, this time be better prepared.
If they turned you down it could be because they hadn't received all the paperwork, or could be you didn't take all the required tests, or even because you didn't have long enough proof of the disability or what caused it.
I don't think it had anything to do with "defending your honor" because the attorney is there to "present" your info to the judge, and then the meeting is between "you and the Judge" and the judge determines from what "you" have to tell him/her. So maybe the question should be did "you defend your honor"?

Who is THEY?
If it is the government...You just got turned down.
Tell us what's wrong with you and we can comment better on experience we know of!
You probably didn't fill out the papers specific enough. They don't give the check on how much you hurt. To be disabled you must be unable to function. They want to know HOW MANY WAYS does your illness effect your quality of life. Can you dress and feed yourself? Can you walk without difficulty? Can you use the bathroom and bathe yourself? I filled out my mama's disabilities papers and she got approved. If she had filled them out herself...they would have turned her down. She did not know how to elaborate past "No". I made her realize each "behavior" that made her be able to say "Yes". Stuff like knocking over her coke at the dinner table was part of not being able to feed herself. She hadn't done laundry for over a month. I wrote that down. She couldn't preform any house cleaning functions. Think hard with my comments in mind. Can you "run errands" or do people have to go places for you or at least drive?
Mama got hers the first time. But her doctor was on her side. That could be your problem. Is your doctor in agreement that you are disabled? Is he a specialist or a general practioner? Have you got somebody (like I was for mama) that KNOWS you and can answer questions truthfully and in tremendous detail. That's the thing. Don't lie! Photo copy these documents. You will need this same information again later and your answers better match!

Social Security Disability is a battle to get. It took my wife almost 4 years and we lost our home, car, everything we had fighting for it. If you are truly disabled, you cannot give up. They say over 50% of people who apply give up because of what they put you through. Keep appealing and make sure you have good Drs who support you.
