no specific treatment is available;self limiting disease; bed rest is useful; pencilline may be used for streptococcal infection if prescent; drugs and allergens shold be avoided; aspirin may be used for joint pains ; corticosteroids may help severe colicky abdominal and joint pains ;high dose immunoglobulin may help some patients with progressive renal involment;

It is self limited, needing no treatment. If there is bleeding from the back passage or there is glomerulonephritis (kidney disease), it is treated with steroids.
