I just answered this. Well, the question was "what's the point and what's the meaning of life?" so... that's close enough.

Let's see... the point......

The point is to raise my son to be happy, healthy and wise. The point is learning and contributing and enjoying. The point is harmony and ideals and equality. The point is making the most of what you've got and recognizing what you don't. The point is living for good and living for bad and living for it all.

There is no answer to "why are we here" because there is no universal purpose. We are animals. We scurry about, working and reproducing and growing and creating and thinking and eating and sleeping and pooping and driving and ...... you get my point. That's it. We exist and then we cease to exist. The cycle repeats with more and more new animals. Life perpetuates.

That may be a scary answer. That may not be what you want to hear. It may not be "good enough" to be considered random and universally, ultimately pointless. Unfortunately it's all I can tell you because, again, that's all there is. False hope rarely does anyone any good so this is the truth for ya, pleasant or not.

Fortunately, the meaning of life is not beyond our understanding.

2 Timothy 2:21
If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

2 Timothy 4
18The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

So the purpose of mankind is to do good and abide with God in heaven. The meaning of life is the experience of the living to fulfill it's purpose or to be thwarted. The purpose will be fulfilled, for many are called but few are chosen, in the teachings of Christ Jesus. The meaning is a transient thing, a chasing after the wind, in the words of Solomon. But the purpose and the outcome are simple.

So to seek the meaning of life is to be distracted from fulfilling the purpose.

Rather than seeking what it means, seek to fulfill your part in the plan, so that you may experience the fulfillment, and abide with God.

...meant to be searched for and understood by each of us, then we must all go on our own quest in search of it.

Our own understanding of what the meaning of life is according to who we are and what we understand of it...

Perhaps when you find out what the meaning of life is to you, it'll be different than mine... Don't we all understand differently what our purpose for being here is? Umm...??
