Depending on the severity, many things can be in play here. How long has it lasted, and how bad is the headache?
Vision changes would be my first thought, when was your last vision check-up? Optometrists can also see inside the back of the eye and see if high blood pressure has been having an effect on you.
Dehydration could definately be a factor, and if so, get some Gatorade, followed by some water. Not too much water, you can overhydrate as well.
If dieting, your protein levels may have dropped too far, eat peanut butter crackers or a burrito with bean and cheese.
Without any of these other problems in play, and if it is a simple headache, I have found what works for me is 500 mg of timed released (no-flush) Niacin, 3 times a day. It has an interplay with the health of the nerve cells, and keeps headaches from happening for me. I used to have migrains all the time. Not in about 25 years, now.
At the base of the skull, there are muscles attached to it. When tight, they cause headaches. Get a couple of large ice cubes from the freezer, wrap in a damp wash cloth, and lay down on your back with them resting on each side of your spine, right at your hairline. The pressure of the weight of your head and neck should hold them in place and press them up against the back of your neck. After about 7-10 minutes, you should feel less tension. Sit up and shrug your shoulders slowly toward your ears, and quickly drop them to normal. Repeat 3 times. That is to get the blood flow back to normal, but not to warm up the muscles too much. Slowly tilt your head toward the shoulder on one side, then the other. Make sure you keep your shoulder down, and just move your ear toward it. That stretch is to give the muscles a chance to alter their positions. You might find that this works even without the cold pack.
But check out the other things I mentioned, there may be a root cause that I would hate to have you miss. Best health to you!

Sometimes an ice pack helps mine. Sometimes a hot shower will. It depends on the type of headache. A shower will help sinus headaches most of the time and it will help minor tension headaches. Also think if you have changed your caffeine intake. Sometimes a cup of coffee helps. I also make sure that I drink more water. Lack of sleep causes or exacerbates many of my headaches. Usually I can't sleep with them but I can sit in a dark, quiet room and that helps.
There are several acupressure methods that are helpful. Pinch the fleshy part between your thumb and index finger or the very top part of your nose between your eyes. There is also a spot about midway between your neck and the outer part of your shoulder but I don't know how to explain the location very well. Try Googling "acupressure headache".

The best remedy before Asprin is good old fashioned rest or a good cup of tea.

You might want to try drinking water but at room temperature or you might make it worse. Tylenol works for me but you should ask your doctor wich pills suite you better. If this happens all the time you might want to take some time off work if you have a job or get away from your possibly, boringl ife routine.

I get cluster headaches. No medicine will even touch the pain (even morphine). The only thing that even slightly makes it feel better is putting ice on my head. Also, Vitamin B12 helps it, if I take it soon enough. I definitely recommend a B-Complex supplement for headaches.

I've found relief from an herbal product called Nux Vomica. Ordering information is at the first link below. It knocked out my migraine in about 20 minutes.

Many times headaches are caused by:
1-lack of potassium in the diet...eat a banana
2-lack of rest...get some sleep in a dark room (its the only true rest)
3-pressure and strain... let your hair down, take off earrings, take off glasses, and close your eyes
I hope this helps... ; )

Usually headaches are caused by dehydration. Try drinking lots of water. They're sometimes caused by hunger too, so try eating something. The third common cause is lack of sleep, so try to get some rest.

My mom and some other people said drinking Sprite or 7-Up helps headaches. I was in chat room last week and someone said Sprite and saltine crackers can help a tummy ache.

Do you have these headaches frequently? It is not normal to have a headache..suggesting there is a causation factor to bring it about. Perhaps you need to pursue that avenue of thought rather than continuing to treat the symptoms.
