We plan on travelling around 4-6 months through Africa and Europe. I'm looking for a durable sandal in addition to boots. Would Keen do the trick?

Keen are well made, but they tend to make your feet sweat/smell. The problem is that the cupped toe tends to trap moisture and heat. Not a big problem if you can take them off for a while every so many hours, otherwise I'd shoot for something with more universal breath-ability (Tevas maybe).
