Sometimes Rogaine can help. I'd recommend seeing a dermatologist. I started using Propecia which is an internal pill. Supposedly it works after 4 or so months. My dermatologist as well as others recommended it from personal experience.

Hair is made from proteins so just be consuming more protein now, you know,eggs n nuts etc

Try blow drying it upside-down. That what my mum does.
Though, as someone with thick hair, I advise you NOT to do it!!
