Good Question! but ear mites are usually found in pets like cats and dogs(most frequently) and as for ur question if they are found in humans as far as i know and have studied yes they can be found in humans but "Humans are not affected" this is because the mites cannot reproduce/live in human skin they usually die off and these mites can never effect or uptill now they have never effected a human ear but i have heard that Humans have been reported to develop skin rashes cuz of these mites but yet to be proved this was what i heard from a proffesor of mine but he had no evidence as he told us!
Yes a human ear can have ear mites rarely the case but it could have but it will not effect a human cuz of trait difference and receptor sites for the mites and proper culture not present (not going into details).
The Ear Mite's proper name is "Otodectes cyanotis" ( Latin for "Picker of the Ear" ). This name tells it all. Ear mites are extremely common, greater than 50% of dogs, cats and fox are carriers of ear mites. Most infestations are subclinical and inapparent, but secondary bacterial and fungal infections can cause a nasty external ear canal infection and much irritation and discomfort for your pet.
