I would... pretty much do nothing. They will by that point know where I stand on the concept of "god" and that I have firmly made up my mind, so as long as they keep it THEIR belief, it's no skin off my back.

It can be very very difficult to serve God with atheist parents. People who come from christian families and haven't experienced it have a hard time understanding it. For myself and a few friends, our atheist parents are usually not at all happy for their children to 'serve God".

Why is everyone being so harsh here?!
Well, its true we follow the religion passed on to us by our parents but God doesn't condemn research.
REsearch on your own religion and find its pros and cons and also do research on other religions. In the end, choose the one that you think leads to a happy life in the world and hereafter.
Religion shouldn't be forced. And especially atheism which doesn't lead to anything.

First I'd have the child examined for brain damage. Then I'd make sure they weren't involved with any brainwashing cultists, like fundamentalists. Then I'd have the childs blood checked for narcotics or hallucinogens. Then I'd have a therapist make sure there were no signs of schizophrenia. Then I'd have MY blood tested to make sure it wasn't someone elses child. If ALL of those things proved negative, I'd pack them a lunch, give them a hug and wish them well.

I would let them know all the facts. i would show them that jesus is a myth (if it is christianity or Islam they wanted to join). I would show them truth. and the funny thing is, most christians know that showing people the truth is a threat. I would show them that jesus did not exist and all the christian facts to support their side, then i would show the other side. I will show them how Dying and rising gods was all the rage in Greece PRIOR to jesus.
I would not want my kids to become christian,Jewish,Muslim. but there are religions I wouldn't mind as much. These religions only encourage bad behavior disguised as obedience to God.

I have every confidence that my kids are far too savvy to fall for religious indoctrination. There is a long tradition in my family of discussing both religion and politics at the dinner table. They both know that if they dedicate their lives to an invisible friend, they'll never hear the end of it. ;)

I would immediately discard it into a trash can at the local Wal-mart. If the child was too old, I would put it into a trash compactor and then throw it into the trash at the local Wal-mart.

Hey, my daughter became a goddam LAWYER. That's even worse than her becoming a sky pilot. Kids always rebel against the values of their parents, get over it.

If that's the case, it means they looked at all the different religions and paths out there and chose one to follow themselves based on their own thoughts, logic, and experience. Good for them.

I'd ask him to bring me a beer.
If he wants to serve someone, might as well make practical use of him.
