i am a guy but sometimes my hair is long and what works best for me is finding a good conditioner and using that instead of hair gel to keep it both styled and also manageable. Never hurts to try.

Tie it... if you have long hair that is.. If you don't, then windy days shouldn't be a problem...

set your hair in rollers with lots of products and put it up before you go out. It will have hold, volume and not fly away.
