Try iice cubes. If you fill a cup up with ice cubes of a size you can munch, it can help provided you can eat cold things without it bothering you. You get to crunch them. They have no calories. You can crunch all you want. You can still do the whole hand to mouth thing as if you were eating chips or popcorn, only the substance has no calories.
Other things I do are sugar free foods made with splenda. NO nutra sweet or aspartme, those are bad for you, splenda is not and tastes normal. You can get low carb, diabetic or sugar free candies and these will not make you gain weight. Be careful how much you eat though or you can get gas!!!
Carrots and celery and good snacks too!!!
Popcorn, air popped with no butter and only a little salt is pretty good too.

I always just try to keep myself doing something else- like I go for a run, read, you know.
Also, every time I get a food craving, I just have a drink of water and wait 15 minutes. If it's still there, I eat an apple or something, just to feel food in my mouth. It kind of puts you off anything else for a while.
Chewing gum is good as well, although sometimes that can make you even hungrier! It depends what works for you.
Hope that helps!

If you are nibbling because you feel hungry then it is a good things as long as they are healthy snacks? By having something to eat when you feel hungry it helps keep a healthy metabolism. But if you are nibbling through bordom then find something to do (clean, exercise..etc).
Opt for healthy nibbles like carrot sticks, fruit, dried friut, unsalted nuts.
Also, thirst can sometimes be disguised as hunger, so have a glass of water and that might help.

Whenever you feel like eating something, choose a carrot, or a dried fig, or a yoghurt or a fruit. This way, you get energy and not fat, and it is healthy. Keep these things in your fridge, and avoid having bread, sweets, chips, chocolates, biscuits etc in the house.

You have to remain very focussed and do not allow weakness to overcome you. At some point of time, you will have to develop a strong feeling towards obesity and how it will affect you in case you get it. Basically raise your level of sensitivity
