Hello, I adopted a puppy today and i am not sure about the breeds of mix the dog is. She is nine weeks old and solid black with the exewtion of a smidge of white on her chest and one of her back paws and she has only nub for a tail. The guy who i adoppted the dog said that she was a Cavailer King Charles and a Border Collie mix, but I am not to sure. Is there a way that i can tell what my puppy is? A website or something? I really dont know how to go about doing it, I cannot get a vet appointment for almost another month and I am very concerned about what kind of dog I now have. ANY help would be so appraciated. Thanks in advance!

If your dog is a mutt (mixed breed), then then are countless choices.
Very rarely, two different purebred dogs are mated to make a mutt that only has two breeds.
HOWEVER:
It's much more common that mutts come from a huge line of different breeds, some are descended from stray dogs on the streets who already didn't have a breed. Imagine: the line starts with a lab and a german shepherd. Their offspring is a lab/GSD. That dog mates with a shar pei/pit bull. Their offspring is already lab/ GSD/ shar pei/ pit bull. That dog goes on to breed with, say, a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Their offspring is RR/ lab/ GSD/ shar pei/ pit. That dog mates with a lab/ pit bull/ rottweiler/ border collie/ collie/ pekingese/ samoyed dog and their offspring is...well, too many breeds to count.
Your dog could be one of those. However, you can look up different breeds of dog that your pup reminds you of and maybe find some breeds he may have in him.

Good luck! =D

Look in the Breeds section on AKC.org for a list of breeds to see what your pup resembles.

Do you have a picture you could upload to the internet? I'm usually pretty good at knowing what breeds a dog has in it's family as long as I can see the dog.

There's no way to tell without a picture to help. If it's a good dog, don't worry about the breed anyway.
