Yes it does, sometimes. Along with sweaty palms and other symptoms.
Try to calm yourself down, take deep breaths, think about something else etc. and see if the palpitations go away. It's very possibly brought on by the anxiety and should go away with it but it's advisable to get a doctor to check it out, to rule out anything more serious or an underlying health condition.
Drinking may help on the spot but it's really not a good long term solution.

I think you get it regardless of any social anxiety, and I don't think you can do anything about it. If you take medication for it, you start getting other side effect symptoms. The palpitation is just a fact of life, it's scarry but if you can ignore it, or avoid doing things that aggravate it, then you should do ok.

I've experienced it. I have social anxiety. The only thing that ever makes my heart palpitations go away is running.

There are a few different anxiety disorders. You shold research GAD.
I have that and other things too. I was just told I have heart palpitations. He said it was pretty normal.

I encourage you to see a counselor who can teach you coping skills to help reduce your anxiety. A doctor can also help you with medication if your anxiety causes you to have panic attacks. It's desirable that you manage without the medication, but if you need it, you need it. A licensed counselor or social worker can diagnose your problem and advise you on dealing with it.

If you've already been to the ER and seen a doc, and they can't reassure you, what can the good folks at Y!A possibly do for you?
