Take the lil' one to the dentist..... ! when it comes to health issues , *especially* for younger children, you need to consult a proffessional........

look at www.webmd.com A very resourceful site, with just about every health topic there is, from small kids, to older adults....... they should have some information there, they also have "Signs and symptoms" checkers, and "When to call a doctor" etc.........

I have 4 children myself, 18, 12, 11, & 9 so I can relate! My 11yo daughter was very similar to yours when she was 5-6. She also stayed to herself, had the big imagination, quiet, she and kept to herself at school. We did the same things trying to encourage her too. It wasn't until we noticed what an interest she had in bugs, spiders, birds, etc that we enrolled into the ASPCA for her. She is underage so it all comes in my name, but I don't open anything that comes I give it all to her. We even adopted a wolf family for her birthday, she said that was the best present she ever got. We also dealt with the headaches you mentioned and found out that she needed glasses! These days it is hard to remember that little duckling that hid in the background. She has a goal of being a veterinarian now, you never see her without her glasses, she LOVES animals and spends time researching different species through the ASPCA (which she now chooses to use her own money and renews her membership every year) it makes her feel responsible and important. I hope maybe some of these suggestions will help! Good luck to you!

Whatever this is she needs to see a dentist, my daughter at two had gingivitis of the gums which is really painful, weirdly this can be come from cold sores if she has been in contact with anyone who has them. The dentist gave me CORSODYL gel which you can buy over the counter at the chemist if you cannot get to any dentist today go buy some of this it is really good stuff it will help with whatever she is suffering from but especially gingivitis, rub into the gums with finger and use sparingly. Good luck, poor little thing.

We have four canine teach, several incisors top and bottom at the front, the rest are grinders. Wisdom teeth usually appear from about age 18 onwards. Your daughter may have a gum infection. At age 4 she still has her milk teeth [first set] the second set usually start at about the same time as the onset of puberty - approx age 7 to 10.

Is the redness occurring on both left and right sides? Check by getting your daughter to close together and separate the left cheek and look as far back between the cheek and back teeth to see if the teeth are contacting then check the right side.
It maybe possible that the permanent molar teeth are erupting early. They normally come thru at 6years typically.
Can you describe the pain.. i.e. short sharp, or long lasting? certain foods or drinks? Is she tired? Is there unilateral swelling on the inside of the cheek and also the outside of the cheek?

It is unlikely that your daughter is cutting adult molars, and a little late for her first molars to appear, I would get her to the dentist or your emergency doctors ASAP, she may have an abcess, or there may be another reason for her sore gums, a throat infection for example could affect her back gums.

also I find that using liquid ambesol is very good for the pain, I have used it on my three children, for teething, ulcers, sore gums etc.

Since it's top and bottom and on both sides, I'd imagine it is teeth coming in.

Most 4 year olds have ten teeth up top and ten down bottom. If she does not have that many, she might be getting her "two year molars" a little bit late. If she DOES have all of them, she might be getting her "six-year molars" a bit early.

Could be second molars coming in late?? They usually come in 23-31 months not sure since you didnt say how many teeth she has already. Here is a link for you that might help

it may be possible she is getting her back teeth through. I'd buy dentenox teething gel for her (it's better than bonjela, i used this on my daughter and it works great!) and take her to visit her dentist. he'll know better than anyone what is wrong.

your four year old could have an abis or an infection within her tooth which is giving her this pain. she can be also grinding her teeth at night when she sleeps. you need to get your daughters teeth looked at and it could be minor or major.
