I feel edgy if I haven't had a drink. Not the shakes, mind you..just a little off.

I am aware of the "mind you."

I would say you just need a little boost to your every
day drudgery.

Something to make things a tad more
pleasant to tolerate or endure.

A little snort might take the
edge off of things for you, and place them in a better
perspective.

In fact, a tiny toot every so often might just
be the answer to that nagging belief that the lady down the hall doesn't like you one bit. She is probably just to
nosey for her own good anyway.

So let's both have one
just to show her we can, regardless of what she says.

And, it is getting a little late here, so I am going to cap the night off with a final toast to all my dear friends. I think I
will make that one a double. Cheers.

Alcoholism is a disease that can progress slowly or quickly. If you feel edgy when you haven't had a drink, then you have a problem. The problem is that you believe you need alcohol to be able to deal with your feelings and/or emotions. Say that to yourself. "I need alcohol to successfully deal with my feelings and/or emotions." Say it a couple of times. Find a bathroom mirror and say it to yourself.

Then simply ask yourself if you are heading in the right direction in life. I would say no, you are not. Developing a dependency on alcohol for emotional control is certainly not a good thing. There are other ways to relieve edginess that don't involved drugs or alcohol.

Stop drinking for awhile and see how you feel. If you are still edgy, try other things like music, dancing, friends, psychological books, etc.

Good luck.

I answered the prior question you posted which was identical. Then I looked at your profile and saw that the majority of your questions and answers had to do with alcohol. Preoccupation with alcohol is also a sign of alcoholism. I think you better have this checked out. Talk to a doctor or call AA.

Well your off to a good start. Step 1 is accepting you have a problem. I would suggest going to AA and you will find out for sure there. You really did not give much detail on exactly how often and how much you drink....Good Luck!!!

Do you drink during the day?
If not, are you thinking about having a drink or wanting one? waiting for the day to end so you can drink?
or is it at the end of a long hard day and a drink helps you to unwind?

You are not an alcoholic until you start going to the meetings. You may just be under the affluence of ilcohol, or you could be a drunk.

Sounds like it. If you feel the need and you realize you feel the need, that's the start of getting help or going the other way and throwing your life away. Your choice. Good Luck.
