Looking for super yummy sugar free recipes for cookies, cakes, desert items that don't use sugar substitutes such as Splenda, Nutrasweet, Stevia, etc. I just want to cut down on sugar intake but still get to enjoy sweets.

Put a couple of cups of oatmeal in a large bowl. Add about half a cup of raisins which you've soaked in hot water and drained well. Add a teaspoon of cinnamon and enough unsweetened applesause to make everything stick together. Put spoonfuls on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350F for about 10-15 minutes or until cookies are lightly tanned. Cool and eat. Enjoy!
You can also use other fruits, such as mashed bananas instead of the applesauce or dates instead of the raisins. I would encourage you to experiment.

Sesame Raisin Cookies INGREDIENTS (Nutrition) * 3/4 cup water * 1/2 cup raisins * 1/2 cup sesame seeds * 1 cup brown rice flour * 1 1/4 cups rolled oats * 1/4 teaspoon salt * 1 1/8 cups unsweetened apple juice * 2 tablespoons vegetable oil * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2. Bring 3/4 cup of water to boil and add the raisins. When the water returns to a boil turn off the heat. Let the raisins plump for at least 10 minutes. Drain the raisins well, then chop them coarsely. 3. Toast the sesame seeds by stirring them with a wooden spoon in a heavy saute pan over medium heat. Saute until the seeds begin to crackle, pop and smell toasted; about 10 minutes. 4. Combine rice flour, oats, salt and toasted sesame seeds. Stir apple juice, oil and vanilla into the flour mixture. 5. Form the dough into 8 large balls. Place each ball on greased cookie sheets or parchment paper. Moisten your fingers and flatten each ball until it is 1/2 inch thick. 6. Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on pans before removing.

Hey Naomi,

I've got a simpler method. I've done it for years.

Substitute Honey for your sugar/molasses. You will have to reduce the amount of water/oil just a bit, but you won't find that the cookies taste all that different. The cookies brown a little less though.

I don;t know of any off hand, but you could try the Diabetic Assoc. They may have some information for you. I know what you mean about sweeteners, now it is even hard to buy gum that doesn't have sweetner in it.
