it depends how old she is....let her decide......potty training should be her decision; some kids are still in diapers when they're 5....at some point though they will make a decision too when they are ready...keep her in diapers, take care of her, and she'll come around in her own time

My daughter was trained at 3 1/2 so if your daughter is nearing three, then it is probably time to do something. Otherwise, I'd let it wait, especially if you've moved homes or she has suffered some other kind of loss.
Maybe move her potty away from the big potty. Don't give her things without her earning them. You could give her a few M&Ms or a toy for sitting on the potty for an increasing amount of time per day. You could do the same if she can go potty in her diaper while sitting on the potty. That shows that she can make it to the potty. Then you can take off the diaper and give her prizes for using the potty.

I am trying to potty train too, I even bought the "Elmo does on the potty" doll. It is not working that well, I think that kids are afraid of the big potty because they see thing go in it and then get flushed away never to be seen again. I always put the lid down and then let her flush. (wash her hands after she flushes, who knows what kind of bacteria is on the handle) and that way they learn good hygiene as well. I am going to try the running around with no diaper on ( for my daughter) and see how that works, it could get messy I'm sure. I had a few success, but I think that they were flukes. When she did have a pee on the potty , I made a really big fuss about it. I have come to the conlusion that it is going to be a very time consuming lesson. We will just have to be patient. Good luck.

One way I potty trained my son is his older brothers helped. They went with him. We also brought the potty out to the living room and let him watch his favorite shows while sitting on the potty.

I had this same problem w/ my youngest who is now 16 and fully potty trained. The best advise I received during that rather stressful time was from a kindergarten teacher who said she hadn't yet had a student in her class in diapers. Accidents, sometimes but never still in diapers. Once I calmed down a little myself, it all just seemed to work itself out and shortly thereafter, my son was fully trained and never did have many accidents, not even at night.

Find out why she is afraid of the potty. Sit on the potty yourself, put your hand in it (I know, gross, but she may be afraid of the water.) Ask her what about the potty scares her and work from there.
Also, it has become a way to manipulate you. She is getting all kinds of attention. Minimize the attention. Maximize your authority as her mother.

For my daughter, who recently turned 3, I let her run around the house for a weekend totally naked, and suddenly the potty was the only way to go. I did this about 8 - 9 months ago, and she's been pretty good ever since.

MY SON TURNED 3 IN MAY, I TRIED TO POTTY HIM EVERY 30 MINUTES, HE WOULD CRY WHILE I PUT HIM ON THE POTTY, I WOULD SIT IN THE BATHROOM FOR A FEW MINUTES, AND HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING ALL SUMMER LONG. SEPT 5 HE STARTED GOING TO PRESCHOOL AND SAW KIDS USING THE BATHROOM. I BOUGHT HIM THOMAS THE TANK UNDERWEAR, AND SAT HIM ON THE POTTY ON A REGULAR TOILET, AND PULLED DOWN HIS PULL-UP AND STUCK NEW UNDIES ON, HE FINALLY STARTED TO PEE. I REWARDED HIM AND ASKED HIM EVERY 2O MINUTES OR SO. DON'T PUSH THE SUBJECT, SHE WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN SHE IS READY. IF SHE IS 4 OR OLDER CONSULT A DOCTOR, SHE MIGHT HAVE BLADDER PROBLEMS, GOOD LUCK AND GO ON THE POTTY FOR MOM AND BE A BIG GIRL.
