yom kippur, Jewish day of attonement. It is meant to be celebrated every day of your life d/t the death and resserection of Christ. For the Christian to mark this as only one day would mean that only on one day are our sins forgiven. So what gives the rest of the year. Respect the day of yom kippur, but celebrate it everyday.

No. Christians are not meant to observe it. It will be tonight, 1 october btw, but it is for Jews only like the sabbath. Christians adopted the Bible, Old Testament for Jews but it was only meant for Jews.

the idea of a christian celebrating yom kippur amuses me somewhat signifigantly.
I mean... the whole jesus sacrifice you belive in makes it so you shouldn't have any use for yom kippur, eh?
if a christian can gain something from Yom Kippur... obviously they are missing something from jesus, becuase last I checked by christian beliefs... your already forgiven, thus a day of repentance is at best, redundant.

No, but it's such a good tradition, purging the body and soul of wrong, seeking forgiveness from those you've wronged, and forgiving those who have done you wrong. I think we should ALL do this once a year...

it was a part of the sacrificial service that was a shadow of Jesus. once he died, no more need for the sacrificial services. the day of atonement or at least what it represented is now going on.

You can celebrate anything you want. All those other holiday celebrations are all made-up nonsense anyway.
