It will not ruin your life. However, you should at least brush your teeth after eating the sugar as it will eat at your teeth slowly and cause cavities. Also, your body doesn't burn the calories well while you are asleep, so eating anything before going to bed will slowly add pounds to your body if it becomes a habit. I suggest not eating 2 hours before you go to bed so it allows your body to do the work it needs to and by then the sugar will be out of your system. You then would be able to go to sleep instead of just lying in bed because you had a burst of energy.

Not really, everyone is different. Some people say you shouldn't eat before going to bed, others say you should eat something to help prevent hypoglycemia. One thing I've learned about sleep is not to listen to other peoples advice. People who give advice about sleep assume that everyone is the same. A friend of mine drinks real coffee with caffeine before he goes to bed and without it he can't sleep. Just brush your teeth and swish some mouthwash and regulate how much sugar you eat through the day so the total of sugar eaten during the day is not too much. We all deserve a treat or two every day, when you want to eat yours is up to you. However in the longer term it is important not to eat too much sugar. It can hurt you when you reach adulthood.

I doubt it would ruin your *life*, your teeth maybe, but not your life. Unless you cant make it to a dentist, ever, then you would be grumpy all the time because of tooth pain and no one would want to hang around with you, because you are such a grump. You may not ever get married and have kids..hold a steady job..
Hmmm.....in the end, eating sugar before bed can ruin your life.

I think eating sugar before bed will give you temporary energy when you really want to relax.

Eating sugar can make you obese, increase your odds of developing diabetes, and rot your teeth.
If you brush your teeth after the last thing you eat, you might avoid the latter.

It won't ruin your life, but it could ruin your teeth. Maybe that would ruin your life, though.
It WILL give you a dry mouth when you wake up in the morning and morning breath. Maybe that would ruin your life.
