get upset and/or mad when I say that the bible is nothing but a stupid, little book full of fairy tales?

Super powers, invisibilty, resurrection, people living for hundreds of years, talking animals, magic, a huge flood, angels, spirits, demons, Satan, an omnipotent man living in the clouds that no one can see and having zero proof of his existence, a utopia up in the clouds, some guy living in the middle of the Earth that tortures people for all eternity, eternal life, and etc..... all seem to things right out of fairy tales. If I went to the fiction, fantasy, and comic book section I could find all of those elements. Yet if I go to to a non-fiction section, I don't find any unless it's some guy talking about the time he did a bunch of LSD and went crazy.

What's the deal with them getting mad and upset at me? It's not very nice and loving of them :(

Whynotaskdon,

Well, I'd love for you to prove the things I mentioned to be true. Where's the evidence? Show me the hardscore, scientific evidence that all the top scientists in the world will agree with and say, "yes, that really does prove that the christian god is real and he is responsible for everything." Where's the evidence like that? Oh, wait, there isn't any bc the bible is nothing but a bunch of fairy tales.

"What's the deal with them getting mad and upset at me? It's not very nice and loving of them :("

Make up your mind: Are you an a-ss or not.
If you want to be an a-ss - be the best a-ss you can be. Stop crying, and stop pretending to ask these type questions, like your hurt.

If you do feel that you have insulted people then stop being an a-ss and return to being a normal person. One that empathizes with others - as I know you can.
Calling people stupid - and then pretending to not understand why EVERYONE is upset at you (as you have few admirers) is such a slap in the face of REAL a-sses, that the real a-sses are insulted because of you being such an embarrassment to the real a-sses of the world.
Basically grow up. Deside are you an a-ss. If so then you will see that your questions are lacking any punch. A real a-ss knows how to insult people, and would not pretend to be upset at people rightfully defending themselves.
People BELIEVE something, because they WANT to. I believe your a pretend a-ss - I need no proof. (but I have plenty.) FACTS are one thing and BELIEF another. They are not the same. DUH!
GOD did not make being human easy or we would not learn anything. As it is plain you have not learned anything, stop insulting us, and grow up.

Ah grasshopper
you have made an egregious error in judgment
and an even greater error in perception

grasshopper...while what you have said reflects poorly on your interpersonal skills-such as they are...or aren't- ...

O tempera! O mores!

grasshopper...
you have made two most specious errors in judgement

you have presumed incorrectly that your intellectual, rational, reasonable opinion on the nature of god is compatible with those of "faith" ... they are [nearly] mutually exclusive....
you can not answer " I believe" with "I know"

secondly, you have made the common mistake of those with a little knowledge, the sophomores of learning- the "wise fools", the error that your view is the only correct view ....for everyone...

hubris! humility! self aggrandizement! self absorbed, adolescent mendaciousness!!!
mad and upset with you?...yes, and deservedly so...
not expect emotional responses????
who's perception of reality is naive' , grasshopper????
something out of a fairy tale???

ah grasshopper....while what you say is truth...as you see it
remember the classic axiom from formal logic

the lack of proof does not constitute the proof of lack...
ponder these words , grasshopper...

I don't get upset,,I believe everything the bible says..I took the time to learn and read the bible..By my choice..just as you have the same right to choose what you want to believe in,, I do also..does that make me or you right in our thinking?..maybe other religions think we are freaky,,you and I, lol..Anyway about it,,it is choice and my choice is different than yours..I show love to each and every person I met..I want the same shown back to me,,most time that doesn't happen but I will still show love anyway...old saying I say,, "2 wrongs don't make a right",,just because some Christains act that way,, doesn't mean all of them do....

Why is it that someone who claims they don`t believe in God, would spend so much of his,or her energy, trying to prove to someone they think is crazy, that there is no God, INLESS he has been led by SOMEONE or SOMETHING that is scared for ALL people to know that there REALLY does exsist a GOD, that can save them from someone or something that has an EVIL hold on their souls? and that thing that has the hold on them, never wants them to pick up a BIBLE, and see how much of it has been fulfilled, proving that the Bible has to be the word of GOD? Funny how no one cares to make fun of people who believe in santa clause huh, only those that believe in GOD. just one more reason, thank you , that people should really think about WHY someone or something out there wants so badly to convince others there is no GOD. If there wasen`t one, why would they try SO HARD to convence people, you don`t see them doing that with SANTA do you, BTW scramble those words, you get SATAN CLAUSE, which is a written agreement.

Well, I don't know... if you mock and disrespect what people value and cherish why would you expext them to be upset? You are being so nice and loving.

Then again it is evident that you are showing immaturity and are confused.

Sorry you have the need to be angrily aggressive, why do you think that is?

Every one needs to believe in something. Look at our world we have hundreds of American men fighting in war, parents who need to believe in God for there childrens sake. People need to hold on to GOD for a piece of mind.To know that when loved ones die they will be in a better place than here. Some need to have someone to listen and God is the answer to most questions and problems. He does many wonderful things that most people don't notice on a daily basis

First of all, I ask that you don't catergorize all Christians into this group of angry people to non-believers.

Second, you can say whatever you want. Just like I can say whatever I want. I see it as that since you have no faith in anything that you have no reason to get upset when people 'diss' you. Because you don't have a faith to defend. Where as religious people have a faith to defend. They defend God. Like Muslims defend Allah, Buddhists defend Buddha, etc. It is only my faith that leads me to my belief that the Holy Bible is true and written by selected men by God and inspired by His Holy Spirit.

I ask you, for 5 minutes, to think that God or a god does exist. With you believing this, think about the bible being true and of God. Wouldn't you then believe that God has super powers, that He can do whatever, whenever, whyever? That He sent Jesus to us to die for us and rise for us in order to redeem us? If you believe that God exists and that the bible is true, then wouldn't you believe that He created everything. That He created all angels and that one of them, Lucifer, hated God's power and choose to become his own god. Then God tossed him out of Heaven and sent Him to a different place, hell, where he would rule? Hell is not in the center of the earth. He walks on the earth to gain our souls. [some of your statements are not true of what believers even believe] (God doesn't live in the clouds, I have to add. And He is not an utopia. An utopia is the man-made philosophy of human perfection. God isn't human. He is divine. He is omnipotence and is spirit and thus everywhere at one time. Just the mere fact that one believes that God is almighty gives us that notion that He is everywhere.) If you continue to believe for a few more minutes that God does exist, then you will see His existence. In the earth, the microscopic organisms, water, rain, air, dirt, worms, birds, fish, etc. etc.

There, just think about yourself believing in God for 5 minutes and I think that you will see why believers defend their own faith. It's a personal journey for us. It's a belief in our Creator and when people say vicious things about God we have the right to get angry. I personally don't care whether you believe or not. I personally don't care if you have questions, ask me questions, and try to make me doubt my own faith. But I will get upset if you attack my faith and tell me that I am stupid, ignorant, closed-minded. Those things I am not. I have read and studied about 8 world religions in 15 years of my life and have thought about it all and freely choosen to believe in the Catholic church. That's my right. You have the right not to believe. I will not get angry with you as long as you don't get angry with me.

I hope that you can see why believers are defensive about their faith. It's like if you get defensive if someone who doesn't know you says hurtful things about your family, about your mother, or sister. That person has no right to say hurtful things about your family and you have no right to say hurtful things about our Creator, our Father, our God. It's a personal and close relationship. When you ask nice questions about God and truly want to learn why we believe, that's fine. But when you (and others) say that our bible is stupid and full of fairy tales, that vicious and cruel. And actually stupid on your part. Just because you choose not to believe doesn't mean that it's a stupid book.

Just have peace in your heart and mind and respect others and yourself, life will be good to you. Peace!

Could it be because you are insulting what they believe in and hold dear to their hearts? Nah, I guess that couldn't be it.

Keep thinking, Einstein. Surely you can come up with a reason.

They get mad at me for just saying 'a book written by PEOPLE', so I can imagine how mad they would get for calling them all fairy tales. Because many take it literally (which you would have to be pretty "blind" to do so).
