We used to call that "cradle crap"! Do what JenB said and rub in some baby oil and use a fine comb. Have plenty of paper towels around to soak up the oil. When you've loosened it all up and combed it out, you can carefully comb through some baby powder to soak up the rest of the oil. Then wash with a baby shampoo.
It's perfectly normal.

That's called cradle cap and we used to use baby oil or vaseline and a soft tooth brush to get it off. It's common so don't freak out. Just keep the head clean and maybe some vitamin A&D ointment would help. If it gets bad ask Dr. next visit.

This sounds like cradle cap, my daughter had it and my 1 year old still gets it once and awhile. You can use a little baby oil and gently rub it it in, then take a fine tooth comb and comb out the flakes. ****Please be very careful** Make sure that you wash out the baby oil. Baby oil if ingested can coat the lungs and blocks oxygen and prevent proper beathing. You wouldn't think that something as innocent as baby oil could be fatal. Good luck with your little one.

It's just dry skin. Get some baby oil and rub it on the spots then use one of those black combs like a barber uses and gently comb the spots...they'll come right off. Oh, do it while she's sleeping or else they don't sit still! LOL

it is possible that it is "cradle cap"...its just dry skin...but it shouldnt look infected or oozy...ask a doctor if you are that concerned, but if its just dry...use some baby oil, massage it into the scalp, and use a soft comb to loosen and remove it, it wont hurt your ittle one if that is all it is....my son was like that for the first couple of years...there skin is just adjusting...bu t see if it might be eczema, soriasis or something more serious...better to be safe than sorry...good luck with everything

If you are really that concerned about it .. why not bring the baby to a Doctor ? Without actually being there to see the spots .. just sounds like dry skin to me. Good Luck! :)

cradle cap. there is special stuff out there for it, or you can use baby oil. Just let it sit for a minuet and comb it out with a fine tooth comb. Good luck!

It's probably cradle cap. When you wash her hair you have to scratch kind of. They also have softer brushes you could use to scrub it off. Be gentle though.
