Ok since Christ will be coming back sooner than we expect, suppose someone walked up to you and said
I am Christ, follow me.
You have never seen this person before, and they dont look like the traditional portraits of Jesus, since we don't know what he truly looks like. Lets even say he is black, bald, etc. Complete opposite of the traditional version... would you disregard him and consider his actions and statements of being our savior blasphemous, or would you follow this stranger to his destination?

Luke 21:8
He replied: "Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am he,' and, 'The time is near.' Do not follow them.

Read the word....................................

Yes Jesus is surely coming back. Where many Christians, I believe, are in error is that they believe He will return to the earth. Actually, no where in scripture does it ever say Jesus will return TO EARTH. It says He will return IN THE AIR. So it would not be possible for Jesus to walk up to you and say this. When He comes back He will come in the clouds and He will immediately take His faithful with Him in glory. The battle of Armegeddon that you hear so much about is going on right now. Just turn on your tv news and you will see the forces of good and evil aligned against each other doing battle as we speak. This battle of Armegeddon has been going on since Jesus returned to heaven and will continue until His triumphant return in the clouds. I just don't believe there will be a rapture. The word can't even be found in scripture.

I would call 911 and say that there is a troubled person
come pick him/her up and take him/her someplace safe
a psych ward, for instance....
however, unless he/she is harming himself/herself or someone else, it is virtually impossible to have someone committed...
so....I would probably be kind to him/her and simply walk away

Blasphemous??? hardly, the words of the mentally impaired are simply symptomatic of their neuroses/psychoses....nothing to be offended by....like the yelpings of a spoiled brat, a whining baby...

by the way...how is it that you know that Christ is coming back sooner than "we" expect.....
what about those that aren't expecting him at all????
on the other hand...it'd be just like the vagaries of god that the perousia would be during the next Cub's trip to the world series....

now, if she were really pretty, intelligent, and had a great sense of humor
if she offered to treat me to a meal at a nice restaurant
if she gave me some money for a casino trip...
then, yes, I'd follow her to these destinations
she could be my goddess for at least the weekend

In the first place that is not supposed to happen.
If Christ should return, he will come down in flames, what Christians term as Armageddon, the end of the world.
I guess Christ anticipated that some humans will try to use his name in vain,

I wouldn't disregard him, and I wouldn't consider his actions and statements blasphemous. But I wouldn't follow him either. I'd quiz him about his history, about theology, and about world history.

And I'd ask him to tell me about myself. If he were really Christ, he would know things about me that no one else does.

After determining that he really wasn't Christ but some crazy mixed up brother instead, I'd ask him if he knew of a place where I could get some good chitlins.

Well, last time Christ performed miracles and gave some pretty mind-blowing sermons before asking people to follow him. So I guess it would be a similar deal again.

I think I would keep walking, maybe run. I Lutheran we don't believe Christ will walk again until the anti-christ revels himself, so this would never happen.

I would disregard him only because the Bible tells us already how Jesus is coming back this next time and that isnt the way...

I'd need a little more proof than just him saying that. I'm sure when / if Christ comes back here .. there will be no question that it is Him. Good Luck! :)
