This is an island in the Caribbean, not someplace in outerspace. They dress the same way that the rest of the Americas and the Caribbean dressed int he 80's. Actually, their style is more fashion forward than a number of places in the Americas!

The fashion was very MTV...the girls were into Madonna so we had our fair share of lace leggings and crucifixes. Rap was also big in Trinidad, so big gold chain and rings were the rage. Also don't forget...

Jelly shoes
Acid wash denim
Suede shoes with silk ribbon laces
Head and wrist bands
Swatch watches
Air Jordans

Thanks for bringing back such horrible memories!

T&T has always been on par with the US - fashions there in the 80s mirrored that of the US fashion. Think of big hair, big glasses, shoulder pads !!!!
