I just read a question that asked whether we should send prisoners to fight in the military if there was a draft. Even though nobody actually said it, as a former Marine, many of the answers sounded like they believe the sole purpose to fight in a war is to die. To me this is very silly. The object is not to DIE for your country, its to make your enemy die for his/her country in order to WIN. It seems to me that most people don't ever care about winning when it comes to war. All they say is get our troops home and send over the war-pigs, criminals and immigrants to 'die for the war'. It just doesn't make any sense. Why do so many people think this? Is it Hollywood? Is it liberal political brainwashing?

When it comes to the war on terror people don't care about winning because they don't understand what losing means. If you listen to the radical Islamic terrorists they they will tell you exactly what losing this war means. They have told us many times over the last few months that they want everyone on earth -- and that includes Americans -- to convert to Islam or they will kill us. Got that? You either convert to Islam or you will be killed unless we win the war on terror. Further, they are fanatically committed to die to win the war on terror. I, for one, think we should give those radical Islamists who wish to die for Islam their wish. I think we should kill them all, in an Islamic country, before they bring the war to the shores of the U. S.

People watch way too much TV. Damn that Michael Moore. Anyway, people have a better chance of dying in a car accident than dying in a war so if they are really worried about death, they shouldn't drive.

I don't know, I know that military people take oaths which they hold very sacred, and play an important role. However, I think that if I had to die - or kill - I'd want to believe that I wasn't being misled about why.

You probablly should watch "Band Of Brothers" again and pay attention this time.

In combat, if you are thinking about living or dieing you will probablly die. It is best to be thinking about what you were told to do if you would like to live.

I think it is both of those things. Unfortunately people do die during wars, but not nearly the number of people that die by abortion each and every day.
