The oldest colonial house on Diani Beach, Mombasa, Kenya.
It's called Inshallah and I enjoyed so much the peace and tranquility of it's verandhas and high ceilinged rooms when I stayed there 23 years ago now. It's probably still rentable, but I'm sure that beach has now been destroyed by tourism. Another wonderful place, only 3 miles from the house is Ali Barbours Cave Restaurant, constructed out of a huge blowhole in the coral, underground, with a large natural opening to the night sky and stars. Superb food. George Barbour also has a superb beach bar.

I had a job at the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada - the world's tallest freestanding building. I did not know until I worked there that there is an entire underground infrastructure to the building - and many more elevator than the public ever sees! The restraurant at the top where I worked revolves every 90 minutes and you can see all the way to Niagara falls and Detroit. The building sways almost 20 feet in any direction - pencils will roll away on your desk - and during electircal storms, it is hit by lightning up to 30 times a minute! Truly an incredibly building.

Good question but difficult to answer as I have been in many unusual buildings in my time..

However what springs to mind immediately is Charles de Gaulle airport in France. The new terminal is very futuristic and the luggage conveyors run underneath the escalators so when you go up (or down) if you look at the escalator next to you, you can see all the luggage moving along underneath.
