What ever it is that has your heart and head at odds should be trusted over either one. If it's a guy thing, trust your head to lead your heart out of harm.

I am a pilot. When flying a plane into poor visibility, we HAVE to fly the aircraft strictly by the instruments in front of us. We have been trained that the sensations we feel in our body will fool us & are not to be trusted. Once in a while an unskilled pilot will inadvertantly fly into conditions of poor visibility unprepared & will start to react to his bodily sensations instead of what his instruments are telling him, & try to control his aircraft by what he "FEELS" instead of what is seen on the instrument panel. Those pilots NEVER live long enough to realise the error of their ways.
We pilots are trained to ALWAYS trust our instruments.

Think of your HEART as the body, & your MIND as your instrument panel.

Listen to your heart and gut instinct. It also depends on the situation. Sometimes your mind plays tricks on you. Your heart will let you know the truth it may hurt but god only gives you what he thinks you can handle.

Sit down and give it some thought. To be pulled in two different directions leads to indecisive actions. Preparation is the key!
