Hi Using a cold colour like a blue in a large room will make the room feel cold unless you introduce a warm colour to go with it.
If you have a big room you can be bold and use dark colours. I think a Burgandy red on the bottom half and a nice cream on the top half is always nice and inviting, Warm and classy. If you must use a blue try doing a Dulux Portuguese Blue on the bottom and a Antique cream on the top half of the wall.

I might go to Home Depot and take a few paint samples home to try out in your room. Tape them to the wall for a few days. When you have narrowed down your choices to two or three, you can buy sample sized paint containers to paint onto your wall, which will give you a better idea of how the paint will look in your room. The paint will look different if your room faces east than it does if the room faces south. Check it out!

Ask someone at the store where you'll get the paint to help you decide on a good color scheme. They were very helpful to me when I went to have a coral color mixed. They taught me that the paint in the can doesn't necessarily look exactly like it will once it dries on the wall. Tell them what you have in mind, and they'll help you achieve it.

A beautiful light aqua would be soothing and refreshing at the same time. Use other beach colors in the room like blues, greens, sand, and lavender.

The ocean? Hmmm...I was thinking bright orange or blue. Trust me. Orange would look great...but I'm not sure in a big space though.
