If you aren't over your ex, you should not commit to a new relationship. You are just going to feel confused and conflicted, and its *really* unfair to the new BF. You should make sure you are completely over your ex before trying to enter this relationship. If I were you I'd either get over the ex ASAP or if that's not possible, tell the new BF you need to put things on hold while you work out your personal issues, so you can be a real partner, instead of someone who isn't truly dedicated to him.
Good luck.

been there done that and i know how you feel. The best thing to do is be honest, think of how you would feel. If your new boyfriend is making you happy, then you have to find a way to terminate the feelings for the ex. hopefully this is just a boyfriend, lol, get rid of pics, dont go where you know youre bound to run into him, you might even have to cut off you and your ex's friends, If you are weak, then these things you should consider, and at the same time if you have to do all of these things, you should not have a new boyfriend right now , I know, I did it and it was almost a disaster....

If you sill have feelings for your ex then nine times out of ten, you still wanna be with him. Never play with a person heart cause it only cause confusion. If your ex knows you still have feelings for him then he's gonna think its ok for him to come around un-anounced.

Then you are not ready for a steady new boyfriend, it is not fair to him. Just date, but do not commit to a relationship until those feelings are over.

Turn those "feelings" for your ex into sheer hatred and loathing, then dealing with them becomes that much easier. Or tell them, "If you really want to honor our friendship, never talk to me again."
