While on creatine your muscles will only retain enough water to hold about 5% more mass, but it does allow for quicker recovery after workouts. Which is to say that you need to take less time off between hard workouts, like one day off instead of two, between working the same muscle groups ( or two instead of three depending on the intensity of your workouts). You should drink lots of water while you use it, if you do. Dehydration is the biggest side effect.

All scientific studies have shown that Creatine consumption does not help in building muscle. I have read the reports in peer reviewed journals and did a paper on it for my Physiology class.
Still, many people swear by it. Glutamine may be a different story.

If your looking to build muscle, then by all means go right ahead.
But if you're trying to lose weight then don't even think about it.
All creatine does is create a water barrier between your muscle and fat.

You should research anything that you are planning on taking. It depends on what you are taking it for and how old you are and any medical problems you may have. So, just make sure it won't cause you more harm than good. Look it up and use a drug site to see if it is compatible with any other drugs or supplements that you now take. Just be smart about any supplement.
