People assume that because I'm a young mother (also married) that I have no idea how to raise a child.
People assume that because I am very friendly, they can take advantage of me.
People assume that because I am a Christian I MUST be a supporter of Bush and think EXACTLY like Rush Limbaugh.
GIVE ME A BREAK!

Here are some of the stereotypes I have heard here on Answers,
White people do not have rhythm, black people always do.
All fat people are jolly.
Men are all alike.
Women are all alike.
Fat people are low class.
All white people are racist.
All Black people are racist.
People who have a bunch of kids are Catholics.
They must be rich to support that many kids.
All single women are desparate for a man
LOL, there is a stereotype for every kind of person.

Ooh, I freakin' love these! Here's some that I can relate to.

"You aren't in a relationship, so you MUST be homosexual."
What? This doesn't make the least bit of sense...
"You are physically unattractive, so you MUST be non-talented and fail at life."
Oh yes, let's assume that I am a completely worthless piece of crap because I don't meet society's standards of attractiveness. Anyone that says this kind of stuff needs to die a slow painful death.
"You don't wear brand name clothing, so you MUST be poor."
No, some of us care about saving up money to buy more important things than that "awesome" Abercrombie and Fitch clothes that "r0xx0rz ur boxx0rz!"
"You are overweight, so you MUST be a lazy fatass and a slob in general. Go exercise, fatty!"
Just because someone's body mass index or whatever is about 27 or so doesn't give them the world record of "Strongest Gravitational Pull of a Human Being." Quit being retarded and maybe I'll consider exercise, mm'kay?

As a Brit living abroad for many years I find it hysterical the things people assume about me:
I dont like to wash myself!
I love roast beef and must know how to cook it (we were to poor to buy such luxuries as a kid)
That I must have been brought up with a silver spoon in my mouth
THat I must have met the queen
and my personal favourite
I must know how to display a dinner service on a WELSH dresser
(why dont u know? ur ******* english rnt u? were the exact words I believe)

People think that since I'm Japanese (born in the USA), I need to be taken care of like a little child, talked to like a little child and that I like Hello Kitty crap...
Where in fact, I own my own business, have travelled extensively, speak Spanish fluently and don't understand why people can't open their minds when they see my face.

some people assume I am dumb because I am blonde. they could not be further from the truth.
my ex husbands assume I am a *****.. but only because they brought it out
my agent assumes I will finish this book soon. ha
my students assume I have been at this a very long time..
and I assume I am making sense at times when no one but me and the fence post know what the he** I am talking about.

Some people think by looking at me that I'm stuck up(someone actually told me this is their first impression of me until they got to know me).
Some people think that I only like white guys. They said most Asian girls go out with white guys.

i personally would like to slap the population that does this:
people ASSUME i can do nothing because i am disabled! ( i was born with spina bifida)
that couldnt be farther from the truth...true a lot of disabled people cant do things for themselves but please dont ASSUME anything about me until you ask me and if i CANT do something ill let you know
ill stop ranting now LOL

I think ppl assume Im a druggy cuz Im so thin.....and also I think they assume Im a *****, cuz I always have a mean look on my face..
Im always in pain and dont feel good, so thats where the look comes from.
