Books, books, books! Two year olds are finally old enough not to ruin good picture books if you read them together. Get strange ones: "A is for Salad," "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus," "Santa Claustrophobia" or classics: "Where the Wild Things Are," "Mike Mulligan's Steam Shovel," anything by Richard Scarry. The books are great and he'll read them for years and think of you!

Most little guys love trains. Not sure of the manufacturer but they have sets that you can add on to making it bigger and more interesting each time. Makes it easy to know what to buy when the next birthday or Christmas rolls around too. My nephew has an entire room of train track and dumping stations and bridges with all the cool noises and everything. It's even fun for the adults!!

My little guy turned 2 in August. A dump truck big enough for him to run & push around was his favorite gift! Tonka dump trucks are great quality and not too expensive. Any kind of truck will probably do! He is also into Teletubbies, Barney and Bob the Builder. At this age, they are happy with clothes, too, especially shirts with their favorite characters on them!

Tricycle! A tricycle is a great thing for a boy! Or maybe some kind of toy vehicle. Maybe stuffed animals if he's not allergic to the furry animals.

Get a gift for his parents instead - he's two so he won't really notice or care, but it'll mean the world to them. If you must get "him" something, get him a gift certificate to a children's store where his mom and dad can get him something they know he actually needs or wants.

How about blocks that have ABC's on them? Or blocks
with numbers on them? It's not too early to get him interested, and he'll be ahead of others who "aren't" taught early. I did this with my daughter, and she grew to really like those blocks....And yes, she's ahead.
