My 2 year old girl looks like a one year old BOY, on account of her hair is very thin and has not grown much, she has a few curls at the back but that is all. I have never cut it. Most other kids her age have a full head of hair. People keep asking if she's a boy or a girl and it is FRUSTRATING ME. I know it sounds silly but what I am asking is she normal, are there other toddlers out there with this same hair problem and what can I do to make her hair grow faster?

My daughters hair seems to be growing really slowly as well. I have heard that curly hair seems like it is growing slower because of the curls.
I look back on pictures and I see how her hair has grown. It has given me hope.
Be paitent and wait is all I can say. I will grow, untill then bows and headbands.. dressy hair things ..little barettes..
Dont worry too much about people calling her a boy even when she is wearing a dress... they are just rude. Dresses, pink.. obviously a girl ..ya?

It could be a lack of nurition or even vitamins. My daughters hair was the same way.Her pedaitician recomended a Pedatric Nutritution drink like Pediasure because she was a picky eater( not due to her hair), it took a month or so and all of a sudden her hair grew and fast!! By Christmas (she was 2 1/2) her hair had been cut 1x and it was a inch or so from her sholders and thick too! PS - Hair is a obvious thing if her doc see's her regulary and has said nodda I think she s fine, but if unsure just ask, thats what they are thee for. Also, check Ebay for "boutique infant bows" some are on head bands & velcro clips no one will even think of asking Boy or girl> LOL
Good Luck!

my daughter did not grow much hair until she was almost three
we had the same questions is it a boy or girl
we had her ears pierced at 3 months and dressed her in pink and dresses and they still asked
be patient her hair will grow (my daughter is 4 now and has hair to the middle of her back and it is thick and very pretty)
as far as people I have just decided that some people are just stupid

Phrase of advantage-- the ends of hair are dead--like the pointers of your fingernails. Slicing it does now not stimulate anything. Slip her some gelatin, perhaps, or simply look forward to the little one hair to discontinue falling out and for the "giant kid" hair to develop in more. At some point, the baby great hair will genuinely stop developing and begin to fall out, whilst the more moderen, thicker hair grows in. It takes a while, but the brand new hair's size will finally overtake the youngster hair, and get longer. My son is doing the equal factor proper now, and my sister (a strawberry blonde) failed to get any reall hair unless she was once in preschool. Simply brush it gently, and make sure your child gets just right nutrition-- fruit and veggies and stuff.

Is she eating well and growing within her percentile?

If she is then you have nothing to worry about, it's probably genetic. My 20-mth-old daughter has so much hair that I have a hard time trimming it whenever her hair has grown longer. She was born with lots of it. I was told by a relative of mine if the baby wasn't born with lots of hair, you can try using breast milk (or milk from your friends' or relatives) to rub on her head. But since your child is quite big, I don't know whether it will still work.

When I was two my hair was almost non existant. I was like your daughter and my mom said everyone used to ask her why did you put your son in a flowery dress. She had my ears pierced. But people kept questioning it. lol But when I was almost 3 my hair started to grow. So trust me when i say it will grow in time, don't worry too much! Im 26 now and my hair is very long now hehe ;)

Just be patient. My mother had the same experience with me. My hair was very fine, so it appeared that I had none until I was a little older than your dear daughter. It will grow and like a previous poster said, "Bows work wonders."
