I just got a miniature schnauzer today. Yay. I'm so excited. He's 4 months old pure white, and very laid back. He was called "Snowy" at the store, but I don't like that name a whole lot, and he doesn't answer to it. Some suggestions for a creative name? I've read other related questions, and nothing jumps out at me.

Most dogs won't answer his/her name until about six months anyways cause they don't really focus well until then...
But you can still name him so he does contain some type of recognition memories when you say his name and try to call him this name all the time cause if you can't figure out a name soon, he'll be confused.
I have a maltese/poodle mix breed and his name is Teddy Bear.
But I think you should name your doggie, Ashland or England, Erie, something different like the name of state, Jersey, Nevada, or after an old toy you loved like I did my doggie. (my old toy's name was Benjamin Theodore Kennedy). Crazy but cute.
Good luck with that puppy. Sure sounds like he has a great home.

I don't know how creative this is to you but i have always loved the name Kota. My neighbors had a dog named Dakota for a long time and she was such a sweety and she wasn't super hyper. I know a lot of dogs are name Dakota so i figured Kota would be that creative edge. Let me know what you think =)

German translations are always fun for schnauzers. How about
Schnee = Snow
Schneesturm = Blizzard
Winzig = Tiny
Hund = Dog
Freund = Friend
Kumpel = Buddy

How exciting, I went and picked my puppy up in Phoenix. I needed time with her to figure out a name. Maybe with time a name will come to you.
Good luck !

Blanco (pronounced blon-ko) :) I'd try looking up foreign names (not necessarily pet names) because they tend to sound the best and are usually the most unique.
