Only about three years a Wahabbi preacher in Saudi Arabia delivered a sermon saying that Jewish women will become the rightful property of Muslim men when Israel is finally conquered. The Wahabbi sect is the state religion of Saudi Arabia; it's clergy get salaries from the Saudi government....
I have to say this: I do not understand the mentalities of those who respond to information like this by spitting accusations at Christianity. Equating modern Christians to radical Muslims is like equating an overexcited Chihuahua to an angry Pitbull on the grounds that they're both dogs.
Yeah, it's technically true, but it's also NOT REAL.
There are some really serious anti-Christian bigots running around and they need to wake up and get off it. Not because Jesus is coming back, or the Wrath of Jehovah shall be upon them, or any of that yadda yadda; because their predjudice against Christians is seriously impairing their perceptions....
I speak not as a believer in any Xtian sect, but as an educated non-Christian who tries to keep his eyes open to what's actually happening in our world.

14 Centuries ago, when The Holy Quran was revealed, the institution of slavery was at peek in the whole world. Islam has always been against the very existence of the institution of slavery. Nevertheless, like most of the other social phenomena, slavery too, because of its deep roots in the society, could not have been abolished by a single stroke of the ruler's pen. It needed not only the provision of settlement opportunities for these slaves but also altering the social attitudes towards them. Islam, from the very beginning aimed at altering the social attitudes of the people towards slaves and slave girls. However, we see that the roots of this institution were so deep that even after twenty-three years of education, it was still not possible to completely abolish the institution. The maximum that could have been done was to give the slaves the choice of freedom, and that is exactly what Islam did.
During this process, it was necessary not only to better the social status of the slaves in the society but also to recognize the relationship between the slaves and their masters. It is in this context, that Islam has recognized the existing sexual relationship between a master and his slave girls. It must, however, be remembered that Islam has not promoted a new relationship but has accepted and recognized an existing one. In other words, Islam did not, for the first time allow sexual relations with slave girls but only recognized an already existing relationship between a slave girl and her master to be legal, for as long as the institution of slavery existed.
In order to understand this verse I think you need to learn more about the institution of slavery that was in action since thousands of years (and obviously since a long before the advent of Islam). Especially, the relationship between a slave girl and her master is more important as we are discussing the sexual intercoarse among them. The sexual intercoarse among them was in no way a rape or an act of prostitution. That was an open act accepted as socially and morally correct almost all around the world and almost among all the religions (including Christianity and Judaism).

This is NOT a god's will. Do you all know that both Jesus and Allah's disciples had changed parts of Quran and Bible's teaching.
Both are great gods but some of their disciples because of human's desire actually secretly re-edited the meaning and added their own words. Another words, these two books were not original 100% pass down from these two great gods.
Believe or not is up to you all.

the problem of studying the Quran is that it, as the Bible must be studied as a whole project not one individual line at a time Out of context gives you very little meaing.
Slavery was banned gradually in Islamic times, giving special emphasis on the merits of releasing them to freedom and buying off their freedom and treating them well unitl it was eventually not part of the society.
Blood money was the custom, so you could buy back the captive wives if one wished as I understand it, or they became members of the new community by marrying into it if they so wished-which in many cases was a better deal to them as they may have well been mistreated before they became captives. History man, you've got to study it if you want to understand anything. I know I hated it when i was younger, it was boring, but now I understand you cannot understand today w/o understanding the "Yesterdays"

Mankind will always change the meaning of my word to suit their purpose, to justify their own selfish needs, or to use as a sword supposedly not of their making. They shall know my wrath at the end of days. God has spoken!

This is why I say that the Islamo-fascists (and that's what they are, whacko libs) should not be considered extremists....they are just taking their book at face value and doing what it says to do. All the Muslims the media love to quote saying that this is not what Islam stands for are just taking out of context the parts of their holy book they want to follow, and ignoring verses like the one you quoted.

Oh yeah Christians. Your God is so blameless:
Numbers 31:13 Moses, Eleazar the priest and all the leaders of the community went to meet them outside the camp. 14 Moses was angry with the officers of the army—the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds—who returned from the battle. 15 "Have you allowed all the women to live?" he asked them. 16 "They were the ones who followed Balaam's advice and were the means of turning the Israelites away from the Lord in what happened at Peor, so that a plague struck the Lord's people. 17 NOW KILL ALL THE BOYS. AND KILL EVERY WOMAN WHO HAS SLEPT WITH A MAN, 18 BUT SAVE FOR YOURSELVES EVERY GIRL WHO HAS NEVER SLEPT WITH A MAN. "

Islam is the most mericful religion on the planet earth. The holy Prophet showed mercy even to the enemies, when they were taken prisoners. Women were shown respect and protected. Islam had protected the rights of the women, and those rights are listed in the Holy Quran.
